andforwardles.Thisoptioncorrelatestotheallow_mail_to_commanddirective.

Thisoptionrestrictsmaildeliverytoexternalles.Thedefaultistodisallowdeliverytolesspecied
in:include:buttoallowdeliverytolesspeciedinaliasesandforwardles.Thisoptioncorrelates
totheallow_mail_to_lesdirective.
Default rights of the local delivery agent
Thisoptioncongurestheprivilegesthatthedeliveryagentwillhavefordeliverytoaleor
acommand.ThisoptionshouldneverbeaprivilegeduserorthePostxowner.Thisoption
correspondstothedefault_privsdirectiveanddefaultstonobody.
Pathname of user mailbox file
Whendeliveringmaillocally,Postxwilldropmailinthedirectoryconguredhereorinitsdefault
mailspooldirectory.Ifyouwishtousethemaildirformatformailstorage,thisvaluecanbe
appendedwithatrailingslash.Forexample,tostoremailintheuser’shomedirectoryintheMaildir
subdirectory,thevaluewouldbeMaildir/.Thisoptioncorrelatestothehome_mailboxdirectiveand
usuallydefaultstosomelocationunder/var/spool/mailor/var/spool/postx.
Destination address for unknown recipients
Ifamessageisreceivedforarecipientthatdoesnotexist,themessageisnormallybounced.
However,itispossibletoinsteadhavethemessagedeliveredtoanalternateaddress.Thisoption
correspondstotheluser_relaydirective.Variableexpansionsmatchingthosediscussedforthe
Search list for forwardarealsovalidforthisdirective.
Spool directory
ThisoptionspeciesthedirectorywhereUNIX-stylemailboxesarestored.Defaultsvarydepending
onOSvariantandversion,butacommonchoiceis/var/spool/mail.Thisoptioncorrelatestothe
mail_spool_directoryoption.
External command to use instead of mailbox delivery
Thisoptiondenesacommandtousefordeliveryinsteadofdeliveringstraighttotheuser’s
mailbox.ThecommandwillberunastherecipientofthemessagewithappropriateHOME,SHELL
andLOGNAMEenvironmentvariablesset.Thisoptioniscommonlyusedtosetupsystem-wide
usageofprocmail.Ifyouuseacommandtodelivermailtoallusers,youmustcongureanalias
forroot,asthecommandwillbeexecutedwiththepermissionsofthe$default_user.Thisoption
correlatestothemailbox_commanddirectiveandisdisabledbydefault.
